Abstract

Vector-borne illnesses including dengue, yellow fever, and malaria present serious health threats, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa. Malaria is still a major cause of morbidity and mortality, innovative strategies for vector control, are required, particularly those that target the immature stages of mosquitoes. The resistanceto current antimalarial treatments makes the development of new insecticides targeted at these larval stages essential. The goal of this research is to create chemical compounds, namely Schiff bases that have the potential to be efficient insecticides against the vectors of malaria.
